Entire Persuasion 2007 screencaps
1200+ screencaps of the new adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion. Lots of Anthony Stewart Head caps in there too :D Funny to see Giles as a regency fop!

I generally liked this version of Persuasion. Rupert Penry Jones was sex on legs, just as the director described him! They did mess with some important aspects of the story, which made certain points lose some of its impact, but it was still good.

In two zip files. Previews and d/l under the cut. As usual you do not have to credit, although its nice :) and no re-uploading and claiming as your own hard work :D

Dude. XD That's Giles.

And that's me..SNAGGING LIKE WOAH!^.^Thanks hon!
Spikes Bintspikesbint on April 3rd, 2007 02:01 am (UTC)
lol yes, he is quite amusing because the character of Anne's father is really obsessed with his appearance, always looking in mirrors and judging other people by looks and position :P

Oh wow! I loved this version and was hoping someone would cap it soon!

As soon as I get home from work I'm grabbing these. :O) Thanks for posting!

you are welcome, I really loved RPJ, it was the first time I had seen him in something and remembered, so I was really shocked to find out he had played St John Rivers in the 1997 Jane Eyre, what a difference a decade made, IMO lol

Thank you so much for these! :)

Personally, I thought this adaptation was a bit weak. I didn't like the pacing of it so much and it had a very bleak tone. I thought Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry Jones (hot sex on legs!) did very well in their respective roles (Hawkins had some very heart-wrenching scenes) but I think that they much more potential than the script allowed. Also (and I know this sounds shallow) but I wish they had done Anne's hair differently -- it was pulled back so tightly and was so harsh looking!

Ah, but I should stop myself before I go into a full blown rant and take up too much space on your comment page. ;) All in all, I've got mixed feelings about this adaptation, so I'll leave it at that.

But thanks again for the lovely caps! :D

I commented on her hair to one of my daughters, I said it was so tight it had to give her a headache, what bothered me about it is that they changed that speech about the inconstancy of women, saying it to Benwick instead of Harville, and so early on in the story, made the impact of the letter Cpt Wentworth sent her at the end seem a bit out of place.

Then there was the mad dash around Bath as if she were running a marathon! The first kiss irritated me too, as someone said on another place, he could have bent his head a little and given her a little assistance, it seemed like she was reaching forever!

I still think the Ciaran Hinds version superior to this, but it has made me a new fan of RPJ :D

lol i had that same instinct, can't think why *whistles innocently* RPJ was so beautiful and I do not normally find my self attracted to blond men :D

glad to oblige :D I really liked this version, but I must admit that maybe I was a little influenced by RPJ. The Ciaran Hinds version is better, IMO, but this comes a close second to that for me.

i have been icon-making for yonkers! i loved this adaptation. =)

I liked this version too, I am a big fan of ciaran hinds and i love his acting but I agreed with what someone else said, that it was nicer to have actors that looked the age of those written in the book :)

I can't wait to see this, although I'm a big fan of the Amanda Root version. That one proved that you don't have to 'improve' on Austen.
Taken, thank you so much!
Spikes Bintspikesbint on April 9th, 2007 05:05 am (UTC)
you're welcome, and the Amanda Root version is still my favorite, but I liked this one too :D

Thanks for capping! Dl-ing, and shall give credit of course.

I admit that I too was attached to the Amanda Root version, the acting was on a whole better in that version. Can't deny the prettiness of the ITV adaptation though. And the sex-on-legs that RPJ undoubtedly is.
Spikes Bintspikesbint on April 10th, 2007 02:35 am (UTC)
that he is, he helps me forget the bits of the story they messed with (which does bother me a bit) when he is on the screen :D
